CoAct is a national not-for-profit organisation and registered charity committed to helping Australians overcome barriers to employment and build brighter futures. Since 1997, we have supported more than 750,000 people into meaningful work through our network of community-based Service Partners operating across 300 locations nationwide.
As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and Company Limited by Guarantee, CoAct is committed to strong governance, ethical leadership, and delivering positive social impact. Our independent Board plays a critical role in guiding the organisation’s strategy, overseeing performance, and ensuring we continue to create lasting outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
We work alongside community-based not-for-profit organisations that share our purpose and commitment to improving lives. Any surplus generated is reinvested back into strengthening services and supporting the communities we serve.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking two experienced and values-driven Non-Executive Director to join the CoAct Board.
This is an opportunity to contribute your skills, expertise, and perspective to an organisation that is making a real difference across Australia. As a member of the Board, you will help guide CoAct’s strategic direction, support effective governance, and ensure the organisation remains sustainable, accountable, and focused on delivering positive outcomes for the people and communities we serve.
While applications are welcomed from across Australia, preference will be given to candidates based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney to support participation in Board activities and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring diverse perspectives and experiences that reflect the inclusive communities supported by CoAct.
Key Responsibilities
As a Director, you will:
Board Directors are expected to commit approximately 15-20 days per year to CoAct business, including meeting preparation and attendance at Board and Committee activities.
This commitment includes:
Board meetings are generally held in Brisbane, while event locations may vary across Australia.
