About the role
Aus Ships Group is seeking experienced and trade-qualified Aluminium Boat Builders, Aluminium Fabricators, and Aluminium Welders to join our growing team in Brisbane.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of new builds, refits, repairs, and maintenance projects for government, commercial, and private aluminium vessels across our Murarrie and Hemmant facilities

We are a small, but highly skilled team based in Murarrie and Hemmant, Brisbane. We pride ourselves in being extremely vast with our capabilities within the marine sector, with current projects in both the commercial and recreational fields.
About the Role
As part of our skilled production team, you will be involved in the fabrication, welding, construction, repair, and refit of aluminium vessels to the highest industry standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience in aluminium fabrication (marine industry experience preferred)
Aluminium MIG welding experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience using power tools and hand tools relevant to aluminium fabrication
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Professional work ethic and commitment to producing quality workmanship
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical fitness and capability to work in a fast-paced environment
Current driver's licence and reliable transport
Australian residency or valid working rights within Australia
Highly desirable:
Experience in aluminium boat building and marine construction
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and weld aluminium components for vessel new builds, refits, and repair projects
Complete work to a high standard in accordance with project specifications
Read and interpret technical construction drawings
Follow directions from supervisors and senior team members
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment
Adhere to all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) requirements and procedures
Communicate effectively with team members and management
