Education
Join the Spinal Injuries Outpatient Department within the Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service, providing specialist care to patients across Queensland. As a Clinical Nurse, you'll combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, coordination, education and service improvement to deliver safe, person-centred spinal injury care. You will:
Provide expert assessment, care planning and coordination for people with complex spinal injuries.Lead and/or collaborate in specialist outpatient clinics, including wound assessment and interim external fixation management.Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support to nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team.Contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, education, research and implementation of evidence-based practice.
About You
You're an experienced Registered Nurse who brings strong spinal injury knowledge, sound clinical judgement and a genuine commitment to person-centred care. You're confident working autonomously, leading others and identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes and service delivery. You will:
Bring more than two years' specialist spinal injury experience, with strong assessment, care planning and complex clinical management skills.Confidently coordinate care, delegate effectively, mentor colleagues and support a high-performing team.Use strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex situations, assess risk and make evidence-informed clinical decisions.Contribute to the development of others through education, mentoring, audits, research, innovation and continuous improvement.

About Us
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
