About My Migration Lawyers

My Migration Lawyers is a national Australian law firm practising exclusively in migration law. We assist individuals, families and employers across Australia through a fully remote legal service.

Our practice covers partner visas, protection visas, visa cancellations and refusals, Administrative Review Tribunal matters, judicial review and other complex migration matters.

The Role

You will manage a varied migration caseload, including:

• Partner visas, including Subclass 820/801 and 309/100

• Prospective Marriage Subclass 300 visas

• Subclass 461 visas

• Skilled migration matters

• Employer-sponsored migration matters

• Department of Home Affairs requests and post-lodgement matters

• Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) matters

• Preparing and reviewing visa applications

• Reviewing and organising supporting evidence

• Preparing submissions and client correspondence

• Managing deadlines and progressing matters without requiring constant supervision

• Communicating directly with clients throughout their matters

• Working with MML lawyers on complex matters where required

Essential Experience

To be considered, you must:

• Be currently registered with OMARA as a Registered Migration Agent

• Have substantial hands-on Australian migration experience

• Have strong experience managing Partner visa matters

• Have ART experience, including experience with Partner visa matters before the ART

• Be capable of independently managing matters from commencement through to lodgement and post-lodgement

• Have experience dealing directly with the Department of Home Affairs

• Be able to identify eligibility, validity, evidentiary and procedural issues rather than simply completing application forms

• Have strong written English and drafting skills

• Have excellent client communication skills

• Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple matters and deadlines

• Have strong attention to detail and professional judgement

• Be comfortable working remotely as part of a collaborative team

Mandatory Requirement: No Existing Client Matters

Applicants must not have any pending migration client matters of their own, whether held personally, through their own business or migration practice, or through any ImmiAccount they own, operate or control.

We recognise that many experienced RMAs have previously been self-employed or operated their own migration businesses. Previous self-employment is not an issue.

However, you must have no existing or pending migration client matters of your own.

This includes matters:

• in a personal ImmiAccount;

• in an ImmiAccount connected with your own business or migration practice; or

• otherwise being managed by you privately outside your employment.

Applicants will be required to disclose any existing migration business or practice and confirm that they have no pending private client matters.

How We Work

My Migration Lawyers operates entirely online. Our team works remotely from locations across Australia while collaborating through modern legal systems, regular team meetings and clearly defined processes.

This is a genuine remote position, but applicants must be based in Australia and able to work effectively during the firm’s ordinary business hours.
