Agronomist (Banana Production)

We are partnering with one of Australia's leading banana producers to recruit their newest Agronomist to join their QLD & NT operation.

This is more than a traditional agronomy role; you'll provide technical leadership and partner with Farm Managers and senior leaders to improve productivity, fruit quality and long-term sustainability.
You'll lead agronomic strategy, support evidence-based decision-making, evaluate emerging technologies and help shape the future of one of Australia's largest banana producers.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Farming & Operations (QLD), you'll:

• Develop agronomic strategies to maximise yield, quality and profitability.
• Design crop nutrition, irrigation and fertigation programs.
• Lead integrated pest management and sustainable farming initiatives.
• Conduct field trials and evaluate new technologies.
• Analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coach and support Farm Managers and Growers.
• Build strong relationships with industry, research and supplier partners.

About You

• A degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture or Plant Science.
• Strong commercial agronomy experience.
• Sound knowledge of plant nutrition, irrigation and crop production.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• A commercial mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience in banana production would be highly regarded; however, we also welcome applications from experienced agronomists working in other horticultural industries who are looking to apply their expertise within a large-scale commercial banana business.

This role can be based in either Innisfail, Queensland or Darwin, Northern Territory.
