Workshop Controller – Byd Homebush

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead our service team and expand our market presence. As Workshop Controller, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of the BYD service department. You will oversee job allocation, workshop productivity, workflow coordination and technician support to ensure efficient servicing and repairs are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Distribute job cards to technicians based on skill set, availability, and priorities
• Monitor job progress, repair quality, and service timelines throughout the day
• Liaise with Service Advisors and Parts team to ensure accurate information and job readiness
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to technicians as needed
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
• Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to manufacturer standards
• Support recruitment, onboarding and upskilling of technicians
• Report on technician efficiency, productivity, and workshop KPIs

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, Leading Hand or Senior Technician
• Solid knowledge of modern automotive systems (EV experience preferred)
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• High attention to detail and time management
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with DMS/workshop systems (e.g., Pentana, Autoline, etc.)
