Mechanical Design Engineer

MineARC Systems is seeking a talented and hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Perth. Reporting to the Engineering
Manager, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of MineARC's innovative safety and technology products used across mining, tunnelling, industrial, and emergency response environments.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust, reliable, and manufacturable products that operate in demanding environments.
 
The Role:

• Develop mechanical designs from concept through to production
• Produce accurate 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Prepare BOMs, engineering calculations, specifications and design documentation
• Design fabricated, sheet-metal, machined, moulded and assembled components
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant, manufacturable and serviceable
• Take ownership of assigned design deliverables and complete them on time
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and design verification
• Support prototype construction, testing and production introduction
• Investigate design issues, production non-conformances and product failures. Work closely with Production, Electrical, Procurement, Service and Quality
• Apply MineARC's document control and engineering change processes
• Provide technical guidance and drawing reviews for junior engineers and draftspersons
• Communicate technical, cost and schedule risks early

About You:

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer 
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks
• Strong experience designing sheet metal, machined, fabricated, and plastic components
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production methods, and design-for-manufacture principles
• Experience integrating mechanical systems with electrical and electronic components
• Practical problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
