About the Role

BRAMS is recruiting a full-time Safe at Home Team Leader to lead our Safe at Home family and domestic violence team in Broome, WA. Reporting to the Community Wellbeing Programs Manager, this is a specialist practice leadership role that combines advanced family violence case work with day-to-day operational management of Family and Domestic Violence Case Workers delivering the Safe at Home program to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children.

You will provide supervision, secondary consultation and mentoring to Case Workers, hold a caseload of higher-risk and complex matters, lead intake coordination, and ensure the team meets program, funding, data and reporting requirements. This is a role for someone who is both an expert practitioner and a confident, supportive leader someone who can hold complexity, model best practice, and bring out the best in their team.

All practice is delivered within the WA Family and Domestic Violence Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework (CRARMF), and in alignment with BRAMS’ Model of Care, Consumer Voice Framework and Quality Care Framework.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing day-to-day leadership and operational management of the Safe at Home Family and Domestic Violence Case Workers, including caseload allocation, supervision, debriefing and performance support
• Undertaking comprehensive and complex risk assessments using the CRARMF, and providing advice on risk thresholds, escalation pathways and safety planning for complex cases across the team
• Holding a direct caseload of higher-risk and complex clients, providing case management, safety planning, advocacy and interagency coordination
• Providing specialist secondary consultation and case advice to Case Workers, and supporting development and review of safety plans and case plans
• Overseeing the Safe at Home intake pathway, ensuring referrals are triaged, screened and allocated in a timely and consistent way
• Monitoring caseloads, case file quality and service data across the team, and preparing program, funding and performance reports
• Modelling and promoting trauma-informed, strengths-based, person-centred and culturally secure practice
• Leading multidisciplinary case reviews, reflective practice and quality improvement activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your cover letter:

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services or a related field, or equivalent substantial experience in specialist family and domestic violence practice
• Substantial experience in family and domestic violence case management, including comprehensive risk assessment and safety planning using the CRARMF
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or coordinating a team, including caseload allocation, supervision, reporting and performance support
• Demonstrated experience managing high-risk and complex family and domestic violence matters
• Demonstrated ability to provide secondary consultation, case advice, mentoring or supervision to practitioners
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families and children specifically Aboriginal women and children experiencing family and domestic violence
• Demonstrated ability to apply and model trauma-informed, culturally safe, strengths-based and person-centred practice
• Strong communication, interpersonal and interagency coordination skills, and experience preparing program and funding reports
• Good organisational and documentation skills, including maintaining accurate case files and meeting program reporting requirements
• Current WA Driver’s Licence, National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain

Desirable

• Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or community-controlled organisation
• Knowledge of Kimberley communities, histories and service networks
• Experience delivering or leading the Safe at Home model or similar home-based family and domestic violence responses
• Formal qualification or training in supervision, team leadership or management, or willingness to obtain
