Social Supermarket Assistant

Every week, members of our community visit our Mercer Street Social Supermarket to access
affordable groceries in a welcoming and respectful environment, as a volunteer you will be working alongside a friendly team of volunteers and staff to help to create that experience.

Whether you're studying, working part-time, transitioning into retirement, looking to
volunteer with a friend, or simply wanting to give back to your community, there's a place
for you at Geelong Foodshare.

What you'll be doing: Depending on the shift, you may assist with:
- Welcoming and assisting customers
- Supporting customers at the checkout (training provided)
- Replenishing supermarket shelves and displays
- Preparing and presenting fresh fruit and vegetables
- Assisting customers with general enquiries and directing them to support services
where required
- Working collaboratively with volunteers and staff to provide a positive shopping
experience
- Recording basic stock or operational data
- General cleaning and housekeeping
- Every shift makes a difference
