We are looking for dedicated chefs to join our team!

Leadership, Industry love, good BBQ, awesome burgers & Sambo's is a must!

2 Smoking Barrels has settled into an awesome new HQ in the heart of the CBD and we are looking for the right person to continue to drive our brand forward with us into the next busy season.

With a fully kitted kitchen, 120 seat restaurant and a big old bar, we need an experienced sous chef to jump on board and continue driving that great hospitality culture forward that we are known for. 

As a family, we have passionately cooked BBQ since 2014 locally for the Illawarra, we are loved by many and want to continue to improve our offering, whilst staying true to our tightly held roots.

You'll be working with an experienced leadership team that is inclusive of both directors, general manager and exisiting sous chef. There is plenty of room to grow within this role!

Expected Professional Skills / What you're really Confident with!

• Authentic staff leadership confidence & experience in a high volume venue with positive leadership culture in every facet of the kitchen. You lead by example. 

• Time management – You use forethought in everyday life, you will be responsible for delegating kitchen tasks / jobs to the appropriate team members to perform. 

• Creativity - Menu & specials development, you'll be working with our executive chef Andrew Burns on any facet of 2SB menu development. You're creative and understand the love language of a perfect sandwich or well executed cheeseburger.

• Excellent communication skills – You've got fantastic communication skills, both orally and written - great with an email and you value communication with your peers.

• Teaching abilities – You will be expected to mentor all levels of kitchen staff in doing things the correct way, we want influence, fun, routine and creativity!

YOU MUST HOLD:

• Current Driver's license 

• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

• Relevant qualification & training as a Qualified Chef

• Ability to work without restriction in Australia

• Min 12 months experience in sous chef role
