Senior Diesel Parts Interpreter / Parts Advisor

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Diesel Parts Interpreter to play a key role in our parts operation based in Brooklyn, Melbourne.

The Role

Reporting to the Parts Manager, you will be a senior technical resource within the parts department, responsible for supporting customers, technicians, and junior staff with accurate and efficient parts interpreting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting diesel engine parts using parts manuals, diagrams, and technical knowledge

• Providing expert advice to customers and internal stakeholders

• Managing complex parts enquiries and troubleshooting part identification issues

• Processing and overseeing customer orders from enquiry through to dispatch

• Coordinating freight and logistics for time‑critical orders

• Receiving, checking, and allocating incoming stock

• Assisting with stock accuracy, inventory control, and rolling stocktakes

• Supporting and mentoring less experienced parts staff where required

About You

You will bring strong technical credibility and a professional approach, including:

• Extensive experience in diesel engine or heavy equipment parts interpreting

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component relationships

• Ability to confidently interpret parts breakdowns and OEM documentation

• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Strong computer skills and experience with ERP / inventory systems

• Clear communication skills and a calm, solutions‑focused mindset

• A team‑oriented attitude with the ability to work independently

Trade‑qualified, mechanical, or technical backgrounds are highly regarded.
