ICT Testing Lead

• Lead and shape the organisations testing and quality assurance capability
• Work on divers and impactful technology projects

Lead, plan and execute quality assurance and testing activities across internal ICT applications, system integrations and enterprise technology deployments.

The role ensures that internally developed solutions, configured applications and vendor supplied upgrades meet defined functional, performance, security and business requirements. It owns the end-to-end testing and defect-management lifecycle and drives continuous improvement in ICT quality assurance

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain comprehensive Master Test Strategies, Test Plans, and testing schedules for ICT applications, upgrades, system enhancements, and integrations.
• Define testing approaches, scope, resource requirements, risks, and quality objectives for projects and releases.
• Establish and maintain requirements traceability matrices (RTMs) to ensure complete coverage of business and functional requirements.
• Lead end-to-end testing activities across all project phases
• Ensure testing activities are completed efficiently and in alignment with project timelines
• Assess software quality risks and provide recommendations regarding production readiness and go/no-go decisions for deployments.
• Collaborate with development teams and vendors to ensure timely defect resolution.
• Lead and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with key business stakeholders.
• Provide guidance, support, and governance throughout UAT execution and formal sign-off processes.
• Monitor and report on quality metrics, test progress, defect trends, defect density, and overall testing outcomes.
• Provide regular status updates and quality reports to ICT leadership and project teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the implementation of automated testing tools, standardised QA frameworks, and enhanced testing methodologies
• Manage test environments and test data readiness across project and release lifecycles

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in a Test Lead, QA Lead, or ICT Testing Lead role.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, quality assurance frameworks, and SDLC practices.
• Experience leading SIT, UAT, regression, integration, and performance testing activities.
• Proven experience managing defects through their full lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar).
• Experience implementing or supporting test automation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Qualification

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
