What You’ll Be DoingYour role will include a combination of building assessment and repair supervision, depending on workload and business requirements.
Building AssessingAttend insured properties and assess building damageIdentify the cause and extent of damageDifferentiate between insurance-related damage, maintenance and pre-existing issuesPrepare clear and accurate assessment reportsDevelop detailed scopes of works, estimates and repair recommendationsProvide technical and building advice to internal teams and clientsLiaise professionally with homeowners, insurers and other stakeholdersAssist with disputes, variations and technical queries where required
Site SupervisionManage allocated insurance repair projects from commencement through to completionCoordinate subcontractors, trades and suppliersReview scopes and ensure repair methodologies are appropriateProgram works and keep repairs progressing within required timeframesComplete site inspections and monitor workmanshipIdentify and resolve issues before they impact the customer or projectMaintain communication with customers, internal teams and insurersManage variations and additional works where requiredEnsure repairs meet quality, safety, contractual and compliance requirementsDrive jobs through to practical completion and handover
What You’ll BringWe’re looking for someone with strong practical building knowledge who can confidently move between assessing damage and managing repairs.Ideally, you will have:A trade, construction or building backgroundExperience within insurance building, assessing and/or repair supervisionStrong understanding of residential construction and repair methodologiesAbility to prepare scopes of works and identify required repairsExperience coordinating subcontractors and multiple projectsStrong communication and customer service skillsGood problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisionsAbility to manage multiple competing prioritiesUnderstanding of WHS requirements and safe work practicesGood computer skills and the ability to work across software-based claim platformsCurrent Australian driver's licenceA proactive, practical and can-do approachExperience across both assessing and supervision would be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in experienced tradespeople, builders, supervisors or assessors looking to broaden their skillset.
