APS Adelaide Profile Services is a leading South Australian steel processing and manufacturing company, supporting customers across Defence, Mining & Resources, Transport, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and general manufacturing.

Operating since 1982, APS provides advanced steel processing including laser, plasma and oxy cutting, CNC machining, pressing, rolling and project steel management.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver / Materials Assistant to join our team at our Lonsdale facility.

This is a hands-on role supporting the movement, storage and preparation of steel plate, processed components and finished customer orders throughout our facility.

Working closely with our Production team, you'll help ensure the right material is identified, handled safely and delivered to the right area at the right time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating forklifts to safely move steel plate, pallets and finished components

• Loading and unloading trucks and incoming material

• Moving raw material between storage and production areas

• Preparing material for cutting machines, CNC and press operations

• Picking and staging completed jobs for dispatch

• Assisting with receipting and checking incoming steel and materials

• Checking material identification, quantities and job documentation

• Maintaining material traceability and correct storage locations

• Assisting with stocktakes and general inventory control

• Using overhead cranes and lifting equipment where trained and authorised

• Supporting production and logistics teams as required

• Maintaining clean, organised and safe material storage and loading areas

• Following APS safety, quality and environmental procedures at all times

We're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working around heavy steel and manufacturing equipment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF)

• Previous forklift experience in manufacturing, steel, warehousing or heavy industry

• Confidence handling long, heavy or awkward loads

• Experience loading and unloading trucks

• Good awareness of load stability and safe material handling

• Strong attention to detail when identifying materials and jobs

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with production teams

• A practical, hands-on attitude

• Good housekeeping and organisational habits

• Reliability and a strong work ethic

Experience with steel plate, overhead cranes, rigging, material traceability or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
