About the role:

To assist with the general operation and delivery of Council’s payroll services
Accurately processing payrolls
Accurate maintenance of employee information, including Superannuation and Leave records
Accurate compliance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement and other relevant legislation
To provide general administrative support within the Human Resources Department and accurate and timely customer service and advice

Key Requirements:

Prepare accounting journals, bank transfers and the transmission of EFT of Payroll Payments and tax payments within the appropriate timelines.
Undertake the preparation and cost allocation of salaries and wages time sheets, including processing reports for the reconciliation of payroll to the General Ledger
Reconcile payroll deductions for PAYG, Superannuation and various other organisations, as required
Provide data input associated with payroll and Human Resources Systems, including the production of salary advice forms and reports as required
Prepare and distribute the Annual Salary Review information and ensure their return in a timely manner for processing.
Assist with the administration of the Superannuation Schemes including the verification, reconciliation and processing of all reports and maintaining employees' individual Superannuation records.
Prepare and submit documentation relating to the termination, movements, and other changes in status of employees.
Process, check, reconcile and calculate Leave Applications and ensure the accuracy of employees’ leave entitlements on the Human Resources Information System

Experience:

Successful completion of VCE or equivalent
Working within a payroll environment
Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements
Applying taxation and superannuation legislation
Working with HRIS and specifically payroll system
Working with timekeeping systems
Experience with Aurion/Humanforce
