Tascorp
About the role
As Tasmania’s central financing authority, TASCORP provides innovative financing solutions that support the State of Tasmania and ultimately benefit the Tasmanian community. We are a specialist organisation where our staff can all make a visible contribution, learn from experienced colleagues and work closely with senior leaders across the business.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially curious Financial Markets Analyst to join our Financial Markets team. This permanent, full-time opportunity is designed for a graduate or early-career professional who wants to build a broad foundation across treasury markets, funding, liquidity, derivatives, capital markets execution and balance sheet risk management.
Initially, this role will support day-to-day analysis, reporting, market monitoring, execution, risk processes and stakeholder coordination. With mentoring and practical exposure, the successful candidate will progressively deepen their market knowledge and contribute to work that informs important treasury decisions.
Accountabilities
Monitor interest rates, credit markets, funding spreads and macroeconomic developments, and assist with preparing clear market analysis and updates.
Maintain market data, pricing tools, dashboards and internal reports used by the Financial Markets team.
Support funding analysis and debt capital markets activity, including issuance preparation, investor materials and market tracking.
Assist with monitoring treasury risks, analysing hedging strategies and contributing to risk reporting, policy compliance and governance.
Provide analytical and operational support for trade execution and help ensure transactions are accurately documented and reported.
Contribute to treasury strategy, liquidity planning, balance sheet optimisation and continuous improvement projects.
What you will bring
You may be a recent graduate with relevant internship or placement experience, or have up to three years’ experience in treasury, banking, financial markets, corporate finance, accounting, risk, consulting or another analytical field.
A relevant bachelor’s degree, such as finance, economics, commerce, accounting, mathematics or a related discipline.
Strong analytical and numerical capability, with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
Confidence using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Curiosity about markets, treasury, trading, funding and risk management, and a genuine appetite to learn.
Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgement and a proactive, reliable approach.
The ability to collaborate, manage time-sensitive work and balance accuracy with commercial awareness.
AFMA accreditation, or a commitment to work towards it.
Highly regarded, but not essential: exposure to Bloomberg, treasury management systems, financial modelling or Power BI; postgraduate study; or progress towards CFA or another finance-related qualification.
Why join TASCORP?
At TASCORP, you can build meaningful expertise while enjoying the lifestyle that makes Tasmania special. We offer flexible ways of working, genuine work-life balance and a spectacular waterfront office in the heart of Hobart. You’ll join a highly engaged team that values integrity, learning and wellbeing.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and are committed to providing an inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone can thrive.
How to apply
