About the Role

Convair Engineering is looking for a qualified Boilermaker/Welder to join our Epping, Melbourne team on a full-time basis, playing a key role in the fabrication of road tanker pressure vessels and specialised equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and sketches, applying accurate marking out techniques and identifying materials and any defects. You will carry out thermal applications such as bending, forming and shaping steel, and assemble and track prepared steel in line with drawing requirements. The position also involves the safe operation of a range of power and hand tools, including angle grinders, pistol drills, guillotines and cut-off saws.

This role will report to the Boilershop Team Leader and collaborates closely with the Workshop Team.

About You

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Relevant trade certification as a Boilermaker or in a similar field.

• A strong commitment to safe working practices and procedures.

• Proficiency in handling materials, tools, and heavy machinery.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.

• A positive work ethic and proactive approach.

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

• Trade qualification in Fitting, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Fabrication and welding experience using aluminum.

• Confined space ticket.

• Experience with welding, fabrication, and general workshop tools.

• Forklift license.
