Gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your Speech Pathology degree, working alongside experienced allied health professionals to support quality, patient-centred care at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
As a Speech Pathology Student, you'll have the opportunity to put your university learning into practice while developing your clinical skills in a supportive hospital environment. Working under the guidance and supervision of experienced allied health professionals, you'll contribute to patient care while gaining valuable insight into multidisciplinary healthcare and the role of Speech Pathology within Metro South.

You'll bring a compassionate approach, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to working collaboratively with patients, families and healthcare professionals.

What we can offer you:The Speech Pathology Department specialises in the assessment and management of inpatients and outpatients with acquired communication disorders, swallowing disorders, voice disorders, laryngectomy and other head and neck surgery across the continuum of care. Speech Pathology services and related clinical competency development align with the aetiologies of head and neck cancer and surgery, critical care and neurosciences, traumatic brain and spinal injury and stroke/neurological disease and aging. Services are mainly provided in the following clinical units - Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU), Geriatric and Rehabilitation wards, ENT/Plastics, Radiation Oncology, Hyperacute Stroke Unit, Neurosciences Unit, Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics/Trauma, ICU and Spinal Injuries Unit and associated specialist outpatients and Day Hospitals.
