About the role

360 Degree Fire Pty Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as an Apprentice Electrician - Fire Services. This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in Canberra, ACT, offering you the opportunity to develop specialised skills in fire services electrical work whilst earning and learning on the job. This is a fantastic entry point into the electrical trade, with a focus on the critical and rewarding field of fire safety systems. You will be working towards your formal electrical qualifications whilst gaining practical, hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, testing and maintaining electrical components of fire safety and alarm systems

• Assisting experienced electricians with the installation of fire detection and suppression system wiring

• Learning to read and interpret electrical drawings and fire safety system schematics

• Conducting routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of fire system electrical elements

• Documenting all work completed and maintaining accurate records of installations and maintenance

• Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including working at heights and in confined spaces when required

• Liaising with customers to explain fire system electrical components and safety features

• Supporting the team to ensure all fire safety systems comply with relevant Australian standards and legislation

• Attending formal training sessions and completing block release study requirements as part of your apprenticeship

What we're looking for

• Year 12 or equivalent level education, or demonstrated equivalent practical capability.

• Completion of a building industry trade in another field or service area.

• A genuine passion for the electrical trade and fire safety services

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively individually and within a team

• Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces

• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new technical skills

• Reliability, punctuality and a professional work ethic

• Full driver's licence and access to reliable transport

• Willingness to obtain relevant certifications and undertake continued professional development
