We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team based in our Perth Head Office.
Reporting to the Payroll Coordinator, this role is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of end-to-end payroll services across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a complex environment, partnering with multiple stakeholders, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
About the Role
As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will manage the day-to-day payroll function while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies.
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
Managing employee payroll transactions including new starters, terminations, remuneration changes, allowances, deductions, overtime and leave payments
Calculating and processing termination payments and employee entitlements
Administering superannuation, salary sacrifice and novated leasing arrangements
Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts to ensure accurate payroll outcomes
Preparing payroll reconciliations, journals and reports
Managing payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation and other payroll-related compliance obligations
Supporting STP reporting and year-end payroll activities
Maintaining employee payroll records and payroll system integrity
Assisting with workers compensation payroll administration and reconciliations
Supporting payroll audits and compliance reviews
Contributing to payroll system enhancements, process improvements and documentation
Partnering with HR, Mobilisation and Finance teams to support business outcomes and employee experience
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in a Senior Payroll Officer or similar payroll position
Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience
Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and payroll compliance requirements
Proven ability to interpret awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts
Experience working with Pronto or a similar ERP/payroll system
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process efficiency
