Leading hand Carpenter

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise carpentry crews and subcontractors on site.

• Coordinate day-to-day carpentry activities and ensure works are completed in accordance with plans, specifications and program requirements.

• Read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.

• Set out and check framing, structural works and general carpentry.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high-quality standard and in accordance with the NCC, relevant Australian Standards and company requirements.

• Coordinate materials, deliveries and site requirements with the Project Manager.

• Monitor productivity and assist with keeping projects on schedule.

• Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact the program.

• Conduct quality checks throughout the build and rectify any issues as required.

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized worksite.

• Communicate effectively with trades, subcontractors, suppliers and management.

• Provide guidance and support to apprentices and junior carpenters.

• Complete hands-on carpentry works.

• Assist the Project Manager with daily site reporting, progress updates and general coordination.
