Salary: $82,349 - $94,376 p.a. plus superannuation
Tenure: Fixed Term – 12 months
Location: Spring Street Office
The Role
The Claims Eligibility Advisor will manage all new claims through the initial liability process from day of claim lodgement through to day 28 liability decision from the claims agent. The role will obtain and provide all relevant information to assist the claims agent in making their liability determination.
Functional Accountabilities:
Communicate verbally, including face to face and in writing with key stakeholders in the assessment of liability for new claims
Obtain all relevant information required to provide advice to the claims agent regarding liability for new claims
Assess new claims and make recommendations to the claims agents, as appropriate, concerning FRV's liability and risk, including consulting with managers regarding claims subject to factual or potential disputes and claims requiring further medical investigations
Obtain internal documentation to assist with claim determination as well as prepare and provide other claims information to the Workcover agent for initial assessment of liability.
The Team
The Commissioner's Office is responsible for all aspects of the work of Fire Rescue Victoria, including the health safety and wellbeing of all staff, Government liaison on any matters that relate to FRV, performance monitoring and assurance activities and specialist practise leadership including PFAS.

What you will need to Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:
An industry related qualification or equivalent practical experience in the assessment and management of workers compensation claims - essential
Diploma/certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, OHS or Project Management - desirable
Experience in an eligibility role within a claims agent or self-insurance would be highly advantageous
Experience and ability in interpreting and applying policy, procedure, regulations and legislation
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and negotiate/influence the actions and attitudes of external and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment.
