About the role
Can you help one of Tasmania’s leading environmental organisations protect one of the world’s most stunning environments? In this role you will aid significantly in this objective, achieving tangible advances in protection every year.
Our Committee of Management (CoM) plays a crucial governance role for the organisation. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from people who have the following skills, experience and/or interests:

The Committee currently meets monthly by videoconference. The time commitment for our committee members is approximately 10-12 hours per month, including relevant meeting preparation.
There is no requirement to be located in any specific location in Tasmania, however financial membership of the organisation is a requirement for all nominees to the CoM, as well as having no current political party affiliation..
Once or twice a year we arrange to meet face-to-face at a location that is as convenient as can be for all committee members.
The Wilderness Society is happy to make the organisation’s Constitution and recent Annual Reviews available on request.
The committee and previous treasurer will provide an induction, mentoring and ongoing support for this role.
The Wilderness Society Tasmania Inc is member of the Australian group of State and National Wilderness Societies.
