Management Accountant - Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Management Accountant to join our manufacturing business and play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, reporting and commercial performance of the business. This is a broad role suited to an accountant who enjoys being involved in the detail and understands the financial complexities of a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with management and operational teams, providing accurate financial information and helping drive better business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance results

• Manage BAS preparation and lodgement, including GST reconciliations

• Manage and reconcile Payroll Tax obligations

• Manage Workers Compensation requirements, reconciliations and reporting

• Manage debtor insurance and other business insurance policies, including renewals, reconciliations and claims where required

• Accounts receivable and debtor management, including credit control and collections

• Prepare and monitor BOM (Bill of Materials) costing and ensure accurate product costing

• Manage inventory accounting, including stock movements, valuation, provisions and reconciliations

• Analyse stock variances, manufacturing costs and production performance

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management

About you

• 3+ years' experience in a Management Accountant or similar role

• Previous experience in a manufacturing business is highly desirable

• Strong knowledge of BOM and product costing

• Solid experience with inventory accounting and stock reconciliations

• Experience managing BAS and GST

• Experience with Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation

• Experience managing debtor insurance and general business insurance

• Strong understanding of month-end reporting and reconciliations

• Excellent Excel skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
