Marla Travellers’ Rest is a sprawling roadhouse, hotel/motel, restaurant, service station, supermarket and much more – all in one place. Located on the Stuart Highway since 1982, we provide a comprehensive range of facilities for travellers and locals alike.

We are expanding our management team and have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, motivated person who is keen to take the next step in their career. With the support and guidance from our current managers, you will assist with all aspects of managing a large roadhouse including the supervision of up to 30 staff. Duties will include:

· customer service in all facets of the business;

· balancing of tills and completion of daily sales information;

· stocktaking;

· assisting with stock ordering;

· checking and entering invoices;

· assisting when necessary in all areas of the business such as kitchen, housekeeping, supermarket and bar;

· fuel dips.

Key skills and qualifications:

· previous experience in a customer service-based role using a point of sale system;

· working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word;

· knowledge and experience with short order cooking;

· proven ability to manage a busy workload on a daily basis, and work under pressure to meet deadlines;

· confident and proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with people at all levels;

· ability to solve problems and be resourceful using a high level of initiative;

· self-driven, proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus and a passion for ongoing learning;

· current Drivers Licence;

· current RSA certificate;

· police clearance.

To be successful you will be hands-on and lead by example, always displaying a strong work ethic. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a can-do attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.

Previous management experience and employment in remote area locations will be viewed favourably, but not essential. Training will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skill set and take the next step in your career.
