Clarke Diesel has been operating in the FNQ Region for over 40 years and has developed mechanical and auto-electrical specialisations in the on site and field service and repairs of Hitachi Machinery, defence, marine, commercial & passenger applications. Our company is ISO certified for Quality and Safety management and have recently been awarded North Queensland's small employer of the year. About the role

We are currently seeking a hands-on, highly-motivated tradesman with Medium to Heavy Diesel experience. Our ideal candidate would be;

• A problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and effective decision making skills

• Able to manage own time in line with assigned tasks

Skills and experience

The successful applicant should have;

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent trade qualification. 

• At least 5 years trades experience (highly regarded)

• Demonstrated Experience in diagnosing both Mechanical & Electrical Diesel Systems

• Marine experience (highly regarded)

• Own tools (essential)

• Driver's Class C Licence (essential)

• HR Driver's licence and forklift licence is an advantage

• Excellent communication skills
