Fresh Start is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by drug and alcohol addiction. With a holistic and evidence-based approach to detoxification, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery, Fresh Start has empowered over 15,000 people to break free from addiction and rebuild healthier, more fulfilling lives.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a full-time Support Worker to join the team at our Northam Recovery Rehabilitation Centre, with an immediate start available.
Reporting to the Residential Rehabilitation Manager, this is a diverse, collaborative role working alongside clinicians, allied health professionals, and families in a structured and compassionate environment.
In this hands-on role, you will support residents throughout their recovery journey, providing:
Assistance with daily routines and therapeutic programs.
Personal care and emotional support.
Monitoring and reporting on wellbeing to clinical staff.
Help with domestic duties (e.g. food preparation, cleaning, shopping).
Logistics support (e.g. appointment attendance, medication management).
Administrative assistance and program delivery support.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re seeking someone who is not only passionate about supporting recovery but also brings the right mix of experience, empathy, and practical skills. You’ll be a great fit if you have:
1. Background & Experience:
Qualifications and/or practical experience in AOD recovery, mental health, or the community services sector.
Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred approach.
Familiarity with working across diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
2. Skills & Attributes:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - engage effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Strong computer literacy.
A non-judgemental mindset and genuine compassion.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
3. Other Requirements:
Current Driver’s Licence (Essential).
First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
National Police & Right to Work Clearance.
Undergo Fresh Start’s Pre-Employment Checks (Reference Check & Medical).
Alignment with Fresh Start’s Christian values and programs.
