About Us:Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria's newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) is a statewide specialist service within PYMHWS, providing expert forensic mental health assessment, consultation, treatment and care coordination for young people aged 10-25 years who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in, the youth justice system.
The Opportunity:
The Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) is a statewide specialist service within the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS), providing expert forensic mental health assessment, consultation, treatment and care coordination for young people aged 10-25 years who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in, the youth justice system.
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), River Unit, provides senior clinical, operational and nursing leadership for the specialist mental health unit at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct (CCYJP), supporting young people in Youth Justice custody with complex and/or acute mental health needs.
The NUM is responsible for the safe, effective and high-quality operation of the River Unit, providing leadership, line management and workforce development for nursing staff and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary FYMHS team, Youth Justice and key health and community partners. The role promotes young person-centred, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed and culturally safe care, with a focus on clinical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
The position is primarily based at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct, with travel to other PYMHWS and Youth Justice sites as required.

About You:✔️ Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or bachelor's degree in nursing.
✔️ Postgraduate Diploma or working towards a Master's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
✔️ Registration as a Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
✔️ A minimum of 5 years' relevant (post-graduation) clinical mental health experience.
