Fitter and Truck/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Precision Exploration Drilling is a leading provider in the drilling industry, known for our commitment to safety, innovation, and quality. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced a Fitter and a Truck/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Maintenance Department. These roles are pivotal in ensuring the high performance and reliability of our extensive range of drilling and support equipment.

About the Role: We are looking for skilled Fitter and a Truck/Heavy Vehicle Mechanics with expertise in maintaining and repairing a variety of drilling rigs and support equipment. This is a FIFO position on a 2/2 roster. 

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working with RC Drill Rigs (including Schramm, DRA, Atlas Copco, Hydco), Diamond Rigs (including KWL, Boart, UDR, Hydco), and support equipment trucks (Tatra, Merc, MAN, Isuzu, Hino). Additional experience with Compressed Air systems (Sullair, IR, Atlas Copco), High Pressure Boosters (Atlas Copco, Hurricane, Air Research), Toyota Landcruiser, Hilux, and various drilling equipment (Gensets, lighting plants, mud pumps, trailers) will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and compressed air systems.

• Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on a range of drilling and ancillary equipment.

• Maintain and service all designated equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

• Comply with all safety protocols and maintenance management systems.

• Document and report maintenance procedures and repairs accurately.

Preferred Experience and Attributes:

• Extensive experience with RC and Diamond Drill Rigs, and various support equipment as listed above.

• Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs.

• Familiarity with compressed air systems and high pressure boosters.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.

• Experience with electrical diagnostics.

• Commitment to adhering to safety and maintenance protocols.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
