Details: Are you interested in contributing to the future of allied health in the ACT?
The Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer provides strategic leadership and advice on allied health workforce, professional practice, education, innovation and policy. We work closely with allied health professionals, health services, government agencies, education providers, and professional organisations to support a sustainable, skilled, and responsive health workforce.
As a Project Officer, you will contribute to a diverse range of projects that support the allied health workforce and broader health workforce across the ACT.
Current priorities of the office include: implementing Action Plan 1 (2025-2026) of the ACT Health Workforce Strategy 2023-2032; developing an Allied Health Workload Management Framework; supporting planning and delivery of the 2027 International Allied Health Conference in Canberra; administering programs that recognise and support allied health professionals, including the Professional Development Support/Advanced Skills Allowance and Allied Health Scholarship Scheme; and engaging with students and future workforce initiatives to promote careers in allied health and healthcare.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from October 2026 until 30 January 2027 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
