St Andrews Christian College is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Learning Support. This full-time, permanent position is located in Wantirna South within the Learning Support department. As the Head of Learning Support, you will be responsible for leading and managing the provision of support for students with diverse learning needs. Your main tasks will include:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for Learning Support across the Primary and Secondary Schools.
• Lead and develop inclusive education policies, programs and practices across the College.
• Provide expert advice on disability, learning difficulties, inclusive education and relevant legislative requirements.
• Lead the College's NCCD process and oversee relevant funding and equity applications.
• Support the identification of learning differences, appropriate assessment pathways and the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Lead and develop the Learning Support Team, including staff mentoring, professional development, performance reviews and team management.
• Support and build staff capability in differentiated curriculum and inclusive teaching practices.
• Coordinate Student Support Group meetings and work collaboratively with parents, teachers, allied health professionals and other support staff.
• Oversee Learning Support resources, staffing, timetabling and budget requirements, including the College's EAL Program.
• Ensure high-quality documentation, communication and Learning Support practices that meet government, regulatory and child-safety requirements.

Head of Learning Support - Position Description

Acceptance and adherence to the College’s Statement of Belief is an essential condition of employment.

• A strong personal Christian faith and a demonstrated commitment to the College's Statement of Faith, Mission and purpose.
• Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications, with postgraduate qualifications in Special Education highly regarded.
• Current VIT registration, with accreditation or eligibility to use relevant educational assessment instruments highly regarded.
• Significant classroom teaching experience, with demonstrated experience leading a Learning Support or Diverse Learners team.
• Strong knowledge of disability, learning difficulties, inclusive education and relevant legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Standards for Education.
• Demonstrated experience leading the NCCD process and managing relevant government funding and support applications.
• Proven ability to support teachers in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), differentiated curriculum and inclusive teaching practices.
• Experience leading Student Support Group meetings and working collaboratively with parents, Learning Assistants, allied health professionals and external providers.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive and effective relationships across a school community.
• Experience in literacy, numeracy and/or social skills intervention, together with the ability to interpret and use student achievement and support data to inform practice.
