About the role

We are seeking a passionate and customer-focused Retail Store Manager to join our team at Gwinganna Retreat & Spa in Tallebudgera Valley, Queensland. This is a permanent part-time position approx 28 hrs per week including Saturday and Sunday's. As a Retail Store Associate, you will be the welcoming face of our retail space, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service whilst promoting our carefully curated selection of wellness products, skincare ranges, apparel and retreat merchandise. This role is integral to enhancing the guest experience and supporting our retreat's revenue objectives through knowledgeable and engaging retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests to the retail store with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive first impression

• Provide knowledgeable product recommendations tailored to guest needs and preferences across wellness, skincare and retreat merchandise

• Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and card payments with integrity

• Maintain the retail space in an organised, clean and visually appealing condition, ensuring products are well-stocked and displays are attractive

• Manage stock ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels, ensuring products are available when required while minimising overstock, shortages and wastage.

• Assist in receiving, unpacking and labelling new merchandise stock

• Staff rostering and management

• Build rapport with guests and encourage repeat purchases through exceptional service and product knowledge

• Answer guest enquiries about products, ingredients and wellness benefits in a helpful and informative manner

• Support promotional activities and seasonal campaigns as directed by management

• Maintain confidentiality and respect for guest privacy at all times

• Collaborate with other retreat team members to ensure seamless guest experiences

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally within hospitality, wellness or luxury retail environments

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for customer service

• Strong numeracy skills and experience with point-of-sale systems or willingness to quickly learn new technologies

• Product knowledge or demonstrable ability to quickly learn about wellness, skincare and retreat offerings

• Reliable and punctual with the flexibility to work casual hours that include weekends and public holidays

• A positive, professional demeanour with the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Attention to detail and organisational skills to maintain stock and retail standards

• Enthusiasm for wellness, health and lifestyle practices

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Desirable: Experience in a resort, spa or wellness retreat environment
