Join a dedicated NSW public sector organisation delivering high impact community outcomes across the state. In this 6 month contract role, you will work closely with the Senior Data Analyst to shape the organisation's overarching Data Strategy and Data Governance Framework.

You will lead research, systems mapping, and documentation to establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and data lineage. Crucially, your work will directly integrate specialised governance and data sovereignty principles into day to day agency data practices, while aligning with broader NSW whole-of-government digital frameworks and public sector commitments.

The Tech Stack & Environment

• Ecosystem: NSW Government public sector data architecture, departmental ICT policy frameworks
• Governance & Cataloguing: Metadata tools, data lineage mapping, enterprise cataloguing systems
• Analytics & Reporting: Power BI, enterprise data platforms
• Delivery: Parramatta location, hybrid working model (2 days in office, 3 days WFH)

What You'll Bring

• Proven background in data governance, data strategy development, and business analysis within complex multi-agency or public sector environments
• Demonstrated capability in defining data ownership, writing governance policies, and mapping system landscapes
• Strong knowledge of or experience operationalising specialised data sovereignty, ethical data practices, or government compliance frameworks
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across business units, technical teams, and community stakeholders
• Experience across both public and private sectors, combined with change management exposure, is highly regarded
