At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Safeguard team.

About the Opportunity

As a CAMHS Mental Health Clinician, you will provide rapid response, assertive outreach, and intensive case management to children and young people aged 0-17 years experiencing acute mental health distress. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based interventions that support recovery, improve outcomes, and strengthen engagement with young people and their families.

This role plays a critical part in crisis response, care coordination, and continuity of care across a range of health and community settings. In this role you will:

• Provide timely mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and intensive case management for children, young people, and their families/carers.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions with a recovery-focused and family-centred approach.
• Coordinate care and collaborate with hospitals, community services, schools, GPs, and other government and non-government agencies.
• Support care planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement, multidisciplinary meetings, and service development initiatives.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and eligibility for registration or membership within one of the approved disciplines (Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Counselling, Welfare, or Midwifery).
• Demonstrated experience in assessing and managing children and young people experiencing acute mental health concerns.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple agencies.

• A commitment to providing person-centred, recovery-focused care for children, young people, and their families.
