Norton Gold Fields is one of Australia’s largest domestic gold producers, with recent annual production of up to 200,000 ounces. The Company has a mining and processing complex in Western Australia’s world-class Kalgoorlie goldfield region, including a highly prospective tenement package of more than 1,000km² surrounding the 3.8Mtpa Paddington Mill. 

Currently Norton Gold Fields is progressing its expansion of two underground mine sites namely Tuart and Enterprise and various open pit projects such as Federal, Jakarta, Golden Funnel, Rose Dam South and Rose Dam North this year.

Duties

• Undertake production duties to facilitate the optimal production of gold ore from the underground mining operations.

• Undertake project work to enable the geology and underground team to meet its resource definition and exploration KPI’s

• Manage the timely and accurate collection of geological information to optimise metal extraction.

• Manage all mediums of geological data to enable accurate integration into the mine planning process to optimise metal extraction and extend the life of the mine.

• Ensure that daily ore production data is accurately reported.

• Prepare periodical safety reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Skills and Experience  

• Bachelor in Geology is essential

• Affiliation to a Professional Body / Organisation (AusIMM /AIG) (desirable)

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an underground mine environment

• Experience with laser mark ups

• Exposure to 3D Mining Software (Surpac or similar) (desirable)

• Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence

• Satisfactory NPC clearance

• Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship
