Disability Support Worker – New Norfolk, TAS

Female Support Worker Required

Pacific Home Care Solutions is looking for a compassionate and reliable female Disability Support Worker to support an NDIS participant in New Norfolk, Tasmania.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys providing genuine one-to-one support and is looking for regular ongoing hours.

About the Role

The participant is currently seeking support 2 days per week, consisting of:

• One 4-hour shift
• One 2-hour shift
• Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons preferred
• Potential for additional hours as support needs develop

Support may include:

• Personal care and showering assistance
• Meal preparation
• Domestic assistance, including laundry, changing bed linen and light household tasks
• Grocery shopping and errands
• Community access
• Assistance with mobility equipment
• Light gardening-related assistance where appropriate

We are particularly looking for someone who is:

• Female
• Kind, patient and reliable
• Comfortable providing personal care
• Physically capable of assisting with a mobility walker weighing approximately 17 kg
• Comfortable preparing meals containing meat
• Interested in nature, flowers or gardening – this would be a great personality match
• Comfortable wearing a mask while providing support due to the participant’s respiratory vulnerability
• Able to avoid strong perfumes or fragrances while on shift
• Respectful of participant choice, independence and dignity
• The participant is happy to guide the successful worker around her routines, preferences and meal preparation.

Requirements

Applicants should have or be willing to obtain the relevant requirements for disability support work, including:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• National Police Check
• Working with Vulnerable People registration, where applicable
• First Aid and CPR
• Current driver’s licence
• Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
• Relevant disability/community services experience is highly regarded
• Experience supporting participants with physical disability, reduced mobility, respiratory conditions or personal care needs would be advantageous.
