Multi-Combination (MC) Truck Driver

Hawkins Transport QLD are on the lookout for a Local & Linehaul MC (Multi-Combination) Truck Drivers located at our Cairns Depot. If you have a passion for driving, a commitment to service, and are looking for your next career move, we want to hear from you!

Our company is dedicated to transporting both General and Refrigerated freight from Cairns into The Gulf of Carpentaria & Cape York including various communities on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities Include:

• Operating our fleet of Kenworth prime movers

• Performing Pickup & Unloading tasks, including handling gates, curtains, and straps, Freezer Pads, Pogo bars.

• Setting of proper refrigerator temperatures and modes on trailers.

• Delivery of freight at various locations 

• Completing Local Dog runs for linehaul drivers, also bringing back trailers from both locations to the depot.

• Maintaining cleanliness and safety of your truck and trailers while keeping the workshop manager up to date with any maintenance requirements. 

• Responsible for the upkeep of driver and company documents during & after each trip, including daily run sheets and any linehaul runs you may be included in.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• MC License with a proven competent and compliant driving history

• Single / B Double with Road Train Experience highly desirable

• Well-presented with good communication and customer service skills

• Availability and flexibility to work to assigned rosters

• Understanding of General & Refrigerated freight operations

• Ability to work independently in various environments

• Mechanical understanding of trailers and truck desirable

• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and Road Transport Legislation

• Forklift License highly desirable
