Eating Disorders Families Australia
About the role
Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is a national, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting families and carers of individuals with eating disorders. Our mission is to provide education, resources, and a supportive community to empower families in navigating their loved one’s recovery journey.
EDFA’s Board Members contribute to the strategic direction, governance, and growth of the organisation. The expertise, perspective, and leadership of the EDFA Board provides support to the Executive Director and underpins the organisation in achieving its mission and expanding its impact.
EDFA has two Board Member vacancies and is ideally seeking individuals whose skills and experience span one or more of the following areas:
If your background does not fit neatly into these categories but you have a strong commitment to EDFA's mission and relevant governance experience, we still encourage you to apply. Together, these two appointments will strengthen the Board's capacity to support EDFA's strategic and operational priorities. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so please apply early if interested.
As a national organisation, EDFA programs are delivered remotely. As such, the responsibilities of this volunteer position can be carried out from any location in Australia.
EDFA is committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We actively encourage applications from people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTIQ+, people with disability, and people from regional, rural, and remote Australia.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals based in South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory, and regional or rural areas across Australia, where we currently lack Board representation.
