Analytics Engineer

The Role

We now have the opportunity for an Analytics Engineer to join our Technology and Innovation Team on a permanent full-time basis. Based at our CBD Head Office, you will be working collaboratively and closely with the entire team and responsible for:

• Creating reusable data marts, semantic layers and reporting datasets
• Defining and documenting KPIs so reports use the same logic
• Shaping raw data into clean, tested models using SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Preparing trusted datasets for SSRS, Tableau and Apache SuperSet consumption
• Supporting quality checks, reconciliation and business sign-off

What You will Need

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:  

• Advanced SQL capability with strong modelling discipline.
• Commercial experience with dimensional modelling, star schemas or reporting marts
• Ability to define and align KPIs with stakeholders
• Strong documentation and data definition practices
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence partnering across business Leaders and technical teams
• Experience in mining, workforce, project performance, maintenance, or asset reporting environments is highly desirable
• Tableau, SSRS, or Superset exposure is an advantage as well as dbt, data catalogue, testing or governance practices
