As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the ATSICHS ​​Aboriginal Health Worker Trainee is a role initiated to support community members by providing a culturally appropriate environment whilst attaining Primary Health IV qualification. The role is supported by the clinic team and overseen by the Practice Manager. Trainees undertake work-based learning whilst at the same time are studying. They are required to be committed to complete the 12-month traineeship. 

Duties

• ​​Work collaboratively with Practice Manager and Aboriginal Health Worker team to learn and apply processes. This includes utilising relevant assessment, care planning and goal setting methods/tools. 
• Maintain positive relationships with community organisations, hospitals, and other stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of ATSICHS Policy and procedures in line with AGPAL Accreditation Standards.

• Base Salary of $45,000 per annum (Based on qualification and experience).

COVID-19 Requirement

Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

• ​​An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

• ​Previous experience working in an administration and /or service coordination role.

• National Police Certificate.
• Current Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
• Evidence of Work Rights.

Preferred

• Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System such as MMEx.
• ​Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and understand the cycle of care patient system.
• ​​Driver's Licence.
