LIGHT VEHICLE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

About the role

We are seeking a Light Vehicle Service Technician to join the team at AMAC -Aldinga Mowers & Cycles in Aldinga Beach, South Australia. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of light vehicle machinery - Polaris side by side off road vehicles, Toro construction equipment and Toro zero turn ride on mowers. As a Light Vehicle Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing light vehicles to the highest standards. This role is essential to our business operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and vehicle safety. You will work on-site at our Aldinga Beach location, utilising modern diagnostic equipment and tools to deliver quality service and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and greasing machines

• Diagnose vehicle faults, electrical issues and hydraulic faults

• Carry out repairs and servicing on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and quality checks on completed work

• Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used and labour hours in service documentation systems

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their machine condition, required repairs and service recommendations

• Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Comply with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices throughout all repair work

• Liaise with parts staff and workshop supervisor to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Motor Mechanic or Light Vehicle Technician

• Current driver's licence and proven ability to operate vehicles safely. Forklift licence is required

• Strong knowledge of light vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems

• Proficiency with computerised diagnostic equipment and modern vehicle technology

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills and customer service orientation

• Reliability and punctuality

• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various positions

• Preferred: Experience within our industry as mentioned above and motorcycle repairs would be an advantage
