The Role

• Plan and oversee tree planting works across our streetscapes, parks and other Council-managed lands
• Identify suitable planting locations and select appropriate tree species
• Coordinate and oversee tree planting contractors to deliver high-quality planting works safely, on time and within budget
• Regular engagement with residents to respond to enquiries relating to proposed street and park tree planting programs  
• Monitoring maintenance of newly planted trees to ensure good tree establishment and survival rates 
• Maintain accurate records of planting activities, species selection, and site conditions to support reporting and continuous improvement

About You

• Demonstrated experience in horticulture or arboriculture (formal qualifications in these fields and previous experience in tree planting operations will be highly valued) 
• Practical knowledge of tree species selection, planting techniques, and tree establishment 
• Strong contractor management and customer engagement skills 
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong record-keeping and reporting skills (ability to use spreadsheet programs will be highly valued).
