Accounts & Payroll Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts & Payroll Officer to join a small and dedicated team at the Murdoch Student Guild. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the full function of payroll processing on a fortnightly basis and for all accounts processing duties. This position is heavily focused on data entry and requires a keen eye for attention to detail. You will provide the highest level of service to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll on a fortnightly basis

• Manage all accounts processing duties

• Perform data entry with meticulous attention to detail

• Provide service to internal and external customers

Selection Criteria

• 3+ years experience in a payroll function including superannuation and PAYG

• Diploma or Certificate within Business Administration or Bookkeeping

• Competence in working with Quickbooks Online (or similar)

• Proficiency working with the Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Experience in office procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team-based environment

• Meticulous attention to detail with strong numeric and data entry skills

• Excellent time management and organisational skills

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems

About us

The Guild provides advocacy and welfare services to students and operates six commercial areas. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate exemplary accounting skills, enjoy working in a heavy administration environment, have a high level of self-motivation and be able to prioritise tasks. In return the Guild provides a work environment with a strong culture of teamwork and mutual support.

This position is part-time, 22.5hrs per week and is offered initially on a one-year contract, with the potential to progress to permanent employment for the right candidate.
