Title:
Project Risk Controls SpecialistOur Adelaide team is seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialists – Major Project Controls to support the successful delivery of major water infrastructure projects that will help strengthen South Australia's future water security.
Working within a high-performing project controls environment, you will lead and facilitate best-practice risk and opportunity management across complex capital programs. Partnering closely with project managers, commercial teams, delivery partners and key stakeholders, you will help ensure project risks are proactively identified, assessed and effectively managed to optimise cost, schedule and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish, maintain and continuously improve project risk and opportunity registers across major infrastructure projects
Facilitate structured risk identification, assessment and review workshops throughout the project lifecycle
Lead and coordinate quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) for project cost and schedule outcomes
Partner with project managers, commercial teams and project controls professionals to integrate risk management into project reporting, forecasting and decision-making
Monitor project risks and opportunities, ensuring clear ownership, mitigation actions and effective treatment strategies are maintained
Prepare risk reporting, dashboards and insights for project leadership, steering committees and governance forums
Provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of risk management practices, documentation and compliance requirements
Support delivery partners and consultants in adopting consistent risk management methodologies and frameworks
Identify emerging risk trends, support lessons learned activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Promote a strong risk-aware culture across project teams and stakeholder groups
Ensure risk management activities align with established governance frameworks, escalation protocols and project delivery requirements
Contribute to the successful achievement of project schedule, cost and performance objectives through proactive risk management
What You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in risk and opportunity management within large-scale infrastructure or major capital delivery programs
Strong understanding of project controls disciplines, including risk, cost and schedule management
Experience facilitating risk workshops and engaging stakeholders across multidisciplinary project teams
Strong analytical capability, including experience with quantitative risk assessment and risk modelling tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present risk information to a range of audiences
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across complex delivery environments
Experience working within public infrastructure, utilities, water, energy or major capital projects will be highly regarded
Professional risk management certification or accreditation (such as ISO 31000-related qualifications) will be highly regarded
Understanding of sustainability, climate resilience or infrastructure asset risk considerations will be beneficial
