About the role
The Community Engagement & Administration Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening community connections and supporting the day-to-day operations of MEAC. This position works closely with the Manager, Staff, volunteers, participants and community partners to deliver inclusive programs, coordinate volunteers, and provide administrative support. The role contributes to creating a welcoming, supportive and responsive environment that reflects MEAC's values of community, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the planning, development and delivery of community programs and activities
Build positive relationships with community members, groups and local services and support inclusive participation, particularly for vulnerable or disadvantaged community members
Identify emerging community needs and contribute ideas for new initiatives
Provide a welcoming first point of contact for participants and visitors and offer information, referrals and general support to community members
Support the recruitment, onboarding and orientation of volunteers and assist in coordinating volunteer roles, rosters and activities
Provide general administrative support including data entry, record keeping and filing
Assist with program bookings, attendance records and reporting requirements
Support communication through newsletters, social media and promotional materials
Assist with room hire coordination and receptionist duties when required
Work with manager to complete term program, including planning, coordination, scheduling, follow up and draft publishing stage
About you
Relevant community and administration experience
Demonstrated competency in the use of information technology such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Publisher, Canva and Outlook)
Understanding of Reckon accounting or be prepared to learn
Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to handle several tasks/projects at one time
Ability to work unsupervised, prioritise and self-manage tasks
Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups
Current Working with Children Check
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Current driver's licence
Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate or be willing to attain it if needed

It is a place where the people of Mooroopna and surrounding districts can become involved, develop new skills, and access a broad range of low-cost social, educational, and recreational programs which are developed to meet the needs of our community. MEAC is positioned to respond to the needs of the community, capitalize on opportunities and work with the Mooroopna community towards its future development.
