About Gilson

Gilson is one of Melbourne's most loved neighbourhood restaurants, sitting opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens on Domain Road in South Yarra. We're a busy all-day venue with a strong local following, and part of a growing hospitality group with serious ambitions for the next few years.

The Role

You'll run your own section and own the experience of every guest in it — reading your tables, anticipating what they need before they ask, and knowing the menu well enough to guide people toward the things they'll love.

•     Delivering warm, confident service across breakfast, lunch and dinner

•     Running your section with pace and organisation during a busy service

•     Knowing the food and drink menus well enough to make genuine recommendations and drive spend

•     Communicating clearly with the kitchen and bar to protect timing

•     Handling guest requests and issues with care, and escalating when you need to

•     Contributing to a team culture people actually want to be part of

Who We're Looking For

•     Is warm, outgoing, and genuinely enjoys looking after people

•     Wants to build a career in hospitality rather than pick up shifts between other things

•     Is confident talking to guests and comfortable recommending and upselling

•     Has flexible availability across breakfast, lunch and dinner

•     Brings a good attitude every shift and is coachable

•     Has previous hospitality or sales experience — preferred, but the right personality matters more
