Fackelmann Housewares supplies housewares products across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and is part of the international Fackelmann Brands network, family-owned since 1919.

We market and distribute brands including Wiltshire, Stanley Rogers and Furi, with ranges spanning kitchenware, tabletop, bakeware, glassware, knives and cutlery.

Our customers include some of Australia’s largest retailers, including Woolworths, Big W, Myer and Harris Scarfe, and we’re continuing to grow the portfolio.

The Role

This is a hands-on coordination role for someone who likes working with product information and getting the detail right.

You’ll report to our Head of Product Development and work day-to-day with our Product Managers, our suppliers and teams across the business, keeping NPD on track and making sure products are accurately set up, presented and ready for market.

Along the way you’ll see the whole product lifecycle, from supplier development and retailer requirements through to packaging and launch. For the right person, it’s a solid grounding for a move into product management later on.

What you’ll be doing

•       Support the Head of Product Development and the wider Product team across a range of NPD projects.

•       Track development timelines, milestones and key deliverables, and flag anything at risk of slipping.

•       Maintain accurate product information, including item setup, specifications, updates and lifecycle data.

•       Coordinate product samples, specifications and photography, along with everything else involved in getting a product ready.

•       Work with internal teams, suppliers and external partners to chase actions and keep projects moving.

•       Help deliver seasonal launches, including showroom set-up, catalogues and presentations.

•       Put together customer presentations and meeting materials.

•       Research competitors, markets and categories to support range development.

•       Complete customer new line forms, product registrations and GS1 requirements.

•       Spot outstanding actions, delays or gaps in information, and follow them through to resolution.

What we’re looking for

We’re open on background, but a genuine interest in product is a must. You might have done this kind of work before — product coordination, NPD, buying support or category administration in housewares, FMCG, wholesale or retail. Or you might simply be well organised, good with data and ready to learn product development properly.

What matters most to us:

•       Strong Excel skills. This is the main tool of the role, so you’ll be working across large product datasets and picking up the things that don’t reconcile.

•       Confident PowerPoint skills. Our customer presentations need to look right, so an eye for layout and the patience to proofread and fix formatting go a long way.

•       Experience with Monday.com or a similar project tracking tool. Our NPD process runs through it, so you’ll be in it daily.

•       Confidence trialling AI tools. We use them daily for image generation, presentations, product data work and research, so we’re after someone curious about learning them and careful about checking what comes back.

•       The ability to juggle several projects at once. Launches run at different stages, and the accuracy must hold across all of them.

•       Strong communication skills. You’ll be dealing with suppliers, internal teams and customers, all day every day day.

•       Follow-through. Chasing suppliers and internal teams is a big part of this, and the role only works if you stay with something until it’s genuinely resolved.

•       A logical mind and a strong work ethic. These are the things we can’t train, and they matter to us more than any particular background.
