ABA/Behaviour Therapist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavior Support Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct support and interventions to individuals with behavioral challenges, working collaboratively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive behaviour support plans.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting comprehensive assessments to identify individual strengths, needs, and preferences.
• Develop and implement person-centered ABA therapy program tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
• Proficiency in ABA program protocols, either through fluency or a willingness to undergo training, as outlined by Program Supervisor.
• Provide direct support and intervention to individuals to promote positive behaviour change and skill development.
• Demonstrated experience in data collection and documentation, with a clear understanding of its critical role within the responsibilities of an ABA therapist.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and caregivers, to ensure coordinated care and consistent implementation of behaviour support strategies.
• Willingness to engage in discussions and respond to inquiries related to the job, as fostering a healthy level of skepticism is integral to maintaining effective and evidence-based practice within the field of ABA.
• Provide training and support to caregivers and support staff on implementing behavior support strategies and techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of client progress, interventions, and outcomes.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging research in the field of behavior support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, special education, or related field.
• RBT (Registered Behaviour Technician Training or ABA Therapist Training from a reputable organisation.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in behavior support or related field, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges.
• Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis principles and evidence-based interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting individuals with behavioural challenges.
