A well-established national workplace health provider is seeking appropriately qualified and experienced clinicians to deliver skin cancer screening services within corporate workplaces.

This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians looking for flexible casual work delivering preventative health services in a professional corporate environment.

About the role

You will conduct scheduled skin cancer screening appointments for employees at workplace clinics.

The service focuses on screening, assessment, education and referral rather than definitive medical diagnosis or treatment.

Depending on your qualifications, training and scope of practice, responsibilities may include:

• Conducting systematic visual skin assessments
• Examining skin lesions using dermoscopy where appropriate
• Identifying and risk-stratifying lesions or findings that may require further medical assessment
• Accurately documenting observations and screening findings
• Undertaking clinical photography where appropriate and consented
• Clearly communicating screening outcomes to participants
• Recommending referral to a GP, dermatologist or other appropriate medical practitioner where further investigation is indicated
• Providing education regarding skin cancer awareness, sun protection and self-monitoring
• Maintaining appropriate consent, privacy and clinical documentation
• Following established clinical protocols and referral pathways

The service does not involve biopsies, surgical procedures, prescribing medication or treatment of suspected skin cancers.

About you

We are interested in hearing from Registered Nurses and other appropriately qualified healthcare professionals with relevant training, experience and demonstrated competency in skin cancer screening, skin lesion assessment and/or dermoscopy.

Ideally, you will have:

• Relevant qualifications or recognised training in skin cancer screening, lesion assessment and/or dermoscopy
• Experience conducting skin checks or assessing skin lesions
• Competency in the use of a dermatoscope
• An understanding of suspicious lesion identification and appropriate referral pathways
• Strong clinical documentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence working independently in a corporate environment
• Appropriate professional registration, accreditation or membership where applicable to your profession
• A strong commitment to patient safety, privacy and high-quality clinical care

Credentialing

Successful applicants will complete a clinical credentialing process before conducting clinics independently.

This will include verification of relevant qualifications and experience and may include competency assessment in skin screening and dermoscopy.

Successful clinicians will also receive orientation to the organisation's clinical protocols, documentation requirements, referral pathways, privacy requirements and systems.
