High School English Tutor

II. Job Responsibilities

As a High School English Tutor, you will:

• Tutor students from Years 7–12 in the NSW English curriculum.
• Deliver engaging one-on-one and small group lessons.
• Explain English concepts clearly and effectively.
• Help students prepare for assessments, examinations, and the HSC.
• Develop students' reading, writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Adapt lessons to students' learning needs and academic goals.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate lesson records.
• Collaborate with team members to improve student outcomes.

III. Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the NSW English curriculum for Years 7–12.
• Previous tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience with high school students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, reliable, and professional.
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Availability on weekday afternoons/evenings and/or Saturdays.

IV. Preferred Skills

• High Band 5 or Band 6 in HSC Advanced English.
• Experience tutoring Stage 4–6 English.
• Experience preparing students for school assessments and HSC examinations.
• Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles.

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
